KIA BRAKE DISC

Grey Cast-Iron G3000 – built to Kia OE drawings for factory-perfect fit, quiet stops and long life.

Cast, machined and 100 % inspected in an IATF-16949 facility that also supplies Hyundai Motor Group.

1. OE-EXACT GEOMETRY

– CNC-turned outer Ø, thickness and bolt circle match Kia blueprint—slides on without shims or spacers.

– Hub pilot and ABS tone-ring window held ± 0.02 mm—zero lateral run-out, no steering-wheel judder or ESC lights.

2. GREY CAST-IRON G3000 COMPOSITION

– 3.3 % C, 2.0 % Si, 0.7 % Mn, ≤ 0.15 % P, ≤ 0.12 % S—same melt used on Forte, Sportage, Sorento production line.

– Pearlite matrix, 200-230 HB hardness: excellent wear resistance, thermal conductivity and natural vibration damping.

3. HIGH-EFFICIENCY VENTILATED CORE

– 40 directional vanes increase airflow 15 %, cutting peak temperature 60 °C in repeated 100-0 km/h stops.

– One-piece casting—no welded seams to crack under heavy loads or mountain descents.

4. SURFACE FINISH & DYNAMIC BALANCE

– Non-directional swirl, Ra ≤ 1.8 µm—beds-in within 20 city stops, no greenfade.

– Balance corrected to ≤ 1 g—mirror-shake free at Kia’s 120 km/h highway limit.

5. CORROSION PROTECTION

– Electro-zinc coating on hat, outer rim and vane mouths—96 h salt-spray per ASTM B117, no rusty hats behind alloy wheels.

– Friction faces uncoated for immediate use; protective oil film burns off on first brake application.

6. QUIET, LOW-DUST DESIGN

– Radial & lateral chamfers plus 0.35 mm under-cut slots eliminate pad-knock and squeal.

– Optimised for Kia low-met and ceramic formulations—low dust, no black rims.

7. VALIDATION TESTS

– 300-cycle AK-Master (100-30 km/h, 3.5 kW power) wear ≤ 0.35 mm—within Kia 0.5 mm limit.

– Thermal shock: 500 °C → 20 °C water quench, 50 cycles—no surface cracks, distortion < 0.05 mm.

8. SERVICE LIFE & FITMENT

– 70 000–90 000 km normal street use; 35 000 km severe duty (taxi, courier, mountain routes).

– Direct replacement for selected Kia models—see reverse for VIN/chassis list.

– Replace in axle pairs and use Kia-specified pads for optimum pedal feel.

INSTALLATION TIP

Clean hub flange with wire brush, apply thin anti-seize on contact shoulders only, torque wheel nuts to 108 N·m (M12) in star pattern.

Bed-in: 8 moderate stops 80 km/h → 30 km/h with 30 s cooling between each.
